Biomass offers CO2 and fuel
Helping businesses to get closer to carbon neutral and
reduce energy costs.
Biomass Boilers can convert up to 90% of the fuel burned to useful heat making this far superior to traditional open fires that only utilise up to 20%. Biomass Boilers are designed to burn either pellet or chipped wood as fuel. These fuels are accessible from sustainably managed forests and are far easier to transport compared to traditional logs. The pellets or wood chips can be fed via an automated system making them virtually hassle free. These kinds of new fuel are classed as carbon neutral as the plants and trees used remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere when they are growing and release the same amount when they burn or decompose naturally on the forest floor. The main cause of global warming by comparison is created by using fossil fuels like coal, gas and oil, this is due to these fuels releasing carbon dioxide which has been locked away for millions of years.
Biomass offers significant CO2 savings of up to 96% and fuel cost savings of up to 80% when compared to fossil fuels. In a commercial environment where multiple boilers maybe utilised across either different buildings or sites the savings are greatly magnified helping to drive the business to becoming carbon neutral for their heating. Ash production is low; typically 0.5% by weight of fuel used and can be disposed of with the normal domestic waste or used in the garden as a fertiliser, further adding to the environmental credentials of the technology.
- Commercial properties benefit from 20 years Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) or 7 years for Domestic
- A sound financial investment with a typical return on investment (ROI) of 4 – 8 years
- Knowledge that you are being environmentally friendly and whilst adding to your corporate responsibility
- It is a carbon neutral fuel source
- Reduction in fuel bills
- No exposure to volatile fossil fuel markets
